Naked Places with Google Earth
Our friends at Naked Places have put together a fantastic naturist website which uses the power of the internet and Google Earth satellite technology to provide detailed and accurate information on places to go naked across the world.
According to Wikipedia:
"Google Earth is a virtual globe, map and geographical information program that was originally called EarthViewer 3D, and was created by Keyhole, Inc, a company acquired by Google in 2004. It maps the Earth by the superimposition of images obtained from satellite imagery, aerial photography and GIS 3D globe. It was available under three different licenses, currently: Google Earth, a free version with limited function; Google Earth Plus (discontinued), which included additional features; and Google Earth Pro ($399 per year), which is intended for commercial use."
Naked Places is an ongoing project, with the goal to provide information about as much of the world as possible. At this point, Naked Places covers North America along with much of Europe—Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Naked Places are currently (Spring 2011) working on Croatia to add to this guide next, and after that we will tackling (in no particular order) Australia, New Zealand, South America and other places in Europe. If you are seeking information about a part of the world Naked Places does not yet have online, please be patient! It has taken the better part of two years to assemble the current guide, and Naked Places expects it will take a few more years to add the other regions we plan to include in the future.
Please support their work by making a donation on their site.
